Radio host Matthew Wright was left visibly flabbergasted by Ms Zissman’s comments, which sparked a heated Brexit debate between the pair. When asked what the British public should do about Brexit, the former Apprentice star said: “I think we just have to suck it up now. A sick side of me wants no deal just to make the people suffer who voted to Leave.”
Mr Wright interjected: “But then everyone will suffer.”
The Celebrity Big Brother candidate replied: “I know everyone will but I’m kind of prepared to take that because I feel, like, you voted to Leave.
“I don’t think we should ever have had a referendum.
“I don’t think the public should have ever been given such a huge responsibility.
“I think I have more interaction with the general public than most people and my general opinion of them is quite low, I have to be honest.”
The talkRADIO host burst out laughing, exclaiming: “How to go and make friends and influence people on the radio.”
His co-host looked steely and unamused.
But Ms Zissman continued: “We elect a government and we put our trust in that government to make major decisions for us.
“So why did the government then go ‘we’re gonna sit it out on this one’?”
The discussion took place as Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn admitted he hadn’t even read the full withdrawal manifesto.
The Sky News presenter confronted Mr Corbyn during an intensive interview on Sunday: “There are some guarantees. There are the level playing field commitments for example.
“The level playing fields commitment are in that withdrawal agreement. Have you read the 500 pages?”
The Labour leader did not skip a beat and quickly hit back saying: “I’ve read a lot of it, not every last word. I’ve read many summaries and many other analyses as I’m sure you have as well.”
