RHONA Goskirk is left fighting for her life in Emmerdale next week after a freak accident involving her boyfriend Pete Barton and a tractor.

Rhona – played by Zoe Henry in the ITV soap – is frustrated when fellow vet Vanessa Woodfield asks Rhona cover leaving Rhona torn between Vanessa’s request and the duvet day she had planned with Pete.

When a hungover Pete insists on rushing off to work, Rhona agrees to help Vanessa. But when Pete finally arrives to work at the farm, Matty Barton is too busy moaning about Cain Dingle to pass on a warning about one of the tractors being dodgy.

With Rhona now covering Vanessa’s shift she also arrives at Butlers Farm to check on the cows.

When she can’t find them, Rhona calls Pete – who’s played by former Hollyoaks actor Anthony Quinlan – from the barn. Meanwhile Pete is distracted by his phone ringing and is horrified when the brakes on his tractor fail.

With the tractor out of control, Pete ends up swerving it into the barn. As the tractor crashes through the barn, Rhona is hit and knocked to the ground.

As she lies unconscious and bleeding on the floor of the barn, Pete panics, terrified that she might die.

Will Rhona pull through? And how will Pete react if she doesn’t?

Poor Pete has already lost most of his family in the last few years. His dad James Barton was killed by his mum Emma Barton.

Then his little brother Finn was shot by Emma and Emma was pushed off the viaduct by Moira Barton in 2017.

His brother Ross also quit the village after being scarred for life in an acid attack.
